Ruby completed her Bachelor of Laws degree from Osgoode Hall Law School and was called to the Ontario Bar in 2009.
Ruby also holds an undergraduate degree in psychology from York University and has completed her Master of Laws studies at Osgoode Hall Law School, specializing in Dispute Resolution.
As a law student, Ruby gained experience in Osgoode’s Intensive Program in Poverty Law. Ruby worked at Parkdale Community Legal Services, assisting clients with their landlord and tenant disputes before the Landlord and Tenant Board.
Ruby completed her articles with the Workplace Safety and Insurance Appeals Tribunal (WSIAT) under the direction of their highly-respected General Counsel. At the WSIAT, Ruby’s work revolved around administrative law and workplace safety and insurance matters.
Ruby has been exclusively practising family law since 2009.
In 2020, Ruby was honored with an appointment to the Dispute Resolution Officer (DRO) Panel for the Superior Court of Justice in Newmarket as well as Toronto, Ontario. Lawyers appointed to this position function to support the family law court process by aiding parties in attempts to resolve their issues prior to their case proceeds before a judge.
Ruby speaks English, Cantonese (fluent) & Mandarin (conversant).
VOLUNTEER & COMMUNITY INVOLVEMENT
Ruby has volunteered her time for numerous worthy causes, including the Afghan Women Organization, Community Legal Aid & Services Program, Centre for Addiction and Mental Health (CAMH) and Hospital for Sick Children (SickKids).

In addition to being a member of the Law Society of Ontario, Ruby also sits on the Board of Directors of the York Region Law Association (YRLA), and is an Executive Member of the Association of Chinese Canadian Lawyers of Ontario (ACCLO).
